Directions

Approach via the A379 Kingsbridge to Dartmouth road, turn off at the mini-roundabout at Stokenham. For bottom access unload cars at the southern end of the beach and then go and park near to the grassy area where the road turns away from the beach. Follow the coastal path for a short distance to metal steps [ suitable for Paraglider only ] . The path runs straight up the hill to the take off area which is in sight of the beach. Hang gliders will find this path difficult without help, so continue for about 400 meters until you are in a bowl. Scale the bank into the adjacent field without causing any damage to the bank. Providing it is not in seed or crop, climb to the top of this field for an easterly take off, [ not in sight of the beach ].

There is top access from the road leading to Middlecombe Farm.

From Beesands travel a mile west to a T-junction, turn sharp left for a short distance to the top of the hill and then check the notice on the gate to a track leading across the top of the hill to the coast. Usually cars can drive across the edge of the first couple of fields to a gate on the left hand side, into a field with a concrete Trig point in the centre. Turn into this field, keeping to one track through the grass to minimise damage to the grass, and drive parallel to the hedge and park by the gate. you then have to walk through another field, roll the large stone aside to open the gate and then walk around the edge of the last field to a gap in the hedge behind take off. Remove the corrugated tin to get past, but replace to prevent sheep getting back into the crops. The gap is marked by a black PVC tape cross on the concrete post.

Parking
On the road, without blocking the access for the farmer, or the bottom landing field.

Nearest Toilet
