Club Night 26.4.09

A good turn out with several new faces. Not much on the agenda but Paul C had an embroidered design of the new club logo.  Next month we should have some samples to view and maybe start ordering.

Club Night 26.2.09

A quiet night with mostly the regulars, which was a shame because you missed a very good talk by Alan Hughes on the finer points of GPS.

Only a few club T - Shirt designs on show, so more on that next month.

Club repack is on Sunday 1st March.

Club Night 29.01.09  The AGM

A good turn out for one of the most important meetings of the year.
Unfortunately you are now stuck with the same committee members for another 12 months.  The only exception being being Mark Nicol retired as librarian and Mat Allott took over, and Paul Coiffi has taken up the post of PG Safety rep -with a bit of guidance from Mark Nicol ( HG Safety rep ).

The Annual Club Repack will be scheduled for Sunday 1st March, 3-7PM at Devonport High School for Boys.  Supervised by Andy Farrow as usual it should be another busy afternoon.

Talk of getting some new club T shirts and sweatshirt organised, so Paul Coiffi will be looking into prices etc, so get your crayons out and come up with a design.

There was also some clarification of the XC rules for this year, so out & return flights now score the full distance flown between the furthest turn points.

The idea of a club weather station based in the Whitsand Bay/Freathy area was also  discussed, hopefully more of that in the near future.

Club Night 27.11.08

After a few items of club business, mainly the idea of a parachute re-pack early next year - date to be confirmed at the January meeting.

The Quiz night went down very well, very well organised and fun.
Once again Robin's site photographs proved popular.
Well done Gordon for the effort

Club Night 28.10.08

Graham Phipps gave a well received talk about the training he provides in Cornwall for Hang Glider and Paraglider pilots, tow endorsements, powered paragliding and powered hang gliding.  CHAPS are about to change their name to 'Cloudbase' - so watch their web site.

Bob M produced the latest cut of the Ager trip watched by the usual crowd.

There are two new paragliding DVD's in the clubs library, "Play Gravity", and "3 Flights" (- which just about sums up this summers flying ! ) , Contact Mark Nicol at the next meeting if you would like to borrow a copy.
